Sheila Cussons
Posthumous Literary Award
 Sheila Cussons had her work published when she was still a child. Her Afrikaans poetry as well as translation of English poems became a regular feature in the monthly magazine of the South Africa Railways and Harbours. As a student she also published English poems in the university magazine in her years a student in Pietermaritzburg. She won several awards that include the Eugene Marais prize, the Ingrid Jonker prize and was also awarded the Hertzog prize, the highest honour in Afrikaans literature. Sheila wrote poetry right up to her death
