Karen Jayes was awarded the PEN/Studzinski Literary Award in 2009. Currently lecturing in journalism and creative writing, Jayes has worked as an editor and writer for various magazines and newspapers in South Africa and London.
For her debut novel, For the Memory of Water, Karen Jayes has won the 2013 Sunday Times Fiction Prize, and has been shortlisted for M-Net’s Debut Award.
