| Nkadimeng Leutsoa was a prolific writer of several Sesotho books and the first person in the Vaal region to advice municipalities to build for the Black communities. He was also one of the surviving victims of the Sharpville massacre and there is a library in Sharpville named after him in honour of the efforts he made to ensure that people get access to information and developed a culture of reading and writing.
He was the chosen legend to present our former President Dr. Nelson Mandela with a horse ans a Sesotho Mokorotlo hat during his visit to the Vaal in the past.
In honour of this great fallen literary hero, it is truly befitting to honour him with the SALA Chairperson’s Award, appreciating him among those who made critical changes in the literary arena in our country. It will indeed be an honour not only to the family and friends of the late Mr. Leutsoa but also to the people of the Vaal to have the hero of his caliber eventually recognized in this wonderful and prestigious manner.
