- Makhosazana Xaba is the author of two poetry collections: These hands (Timbila, 2005) and Tongues of their Mothers (UKZN Press, 2008). Her poetry has been anthologized locally and internationally including anthologies in Mandarin and Italian.
- She is the co-editor, with Karen Martin, of Queer Africa: New and Collected Fiction (MaThoko Books, 2013) which won the 26th Lambda Award for the fiction anthology which has been translated into Spanish and published in 2014.
