Pamela Newham

Pamela Newham has worked as an English teacher, journalist and features editor. She has published three novels for young adults and her poems and short stories have appeared in several anthologies and journals. Her first novel for young teens, Three Blind Dates, was runner-up in Maskew Miller Longman’s Literary Awards for 2010. Her third young teen book, The Klipspringers, (published by Oxford University Press SA) was CAPS Approved for grade 7 by the Department of Basic Education in 2014. Third Beach, Port St Johns was shortlisted for the Sol Plaatje European Union Poetry Award for 2012. She has recently published a poetry collection, Washing Day in the Bush. She lives in Hout Bay and gives lectures and workshops in journalism and how to write books for children.
