Lynthia Julius

Lynthia Julius was born in Springbok in 1993 and grew up in Kimberley where she matriculated in 2011. She graduated with an honour’s degree in Philosophy from the University of the Free State. She was the 2017 winner of the AVBOB poetry competition in the Afrikaans section for her poem Vir Aljarreau. In 2019 she was joint winner of the Patricia Schonstein Poetry in McGregor award for her poem Die huis hoor nie. Uit die Kroes (2020, Kwela) is her debut poetry anthology. She is currently a master’s student in Creative Writing at the University of the Free State.
